April 1: Maine Fishing Open Water Season Begins in area ponds.
April 8: Solar Eclipse in Greenville, Maine.
April – Annual Piscataquis River Canoe Event. This 8 mile run starts in Guilford and ends in Dover/Foxcroft. Racers compete in over 20 racing and recreational classes for canoes and kayaks. This is an American Canoe Association Maine Event. For more information contact SPCC at 207.564.7533. Sightseeing along the river, watch paddlers, and take in the beautiful scenery.
MAY – SEPTEMBER – CANOEING & KAYAKING!
May: Moose Watching Tours – Land based tours. Tours are offered throughout the season thru October.
May 31: Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies, Greenville and other locations.
June – Maine Free Fishing Weekend
Mid-June: Strawberry season is here! Berry-picking farms open to the public.
June – Moose River Canoe Race– annual 8 mile race from Brassua Lake to Moosehead Lake.
June – Maine Whoopie Pie Festival, Dover Foxcroft Maine
June – Mooosehead Area Artisans Show – Save The Depot – Greenville, Maine
Moosehead Lake Hiking destinations: Eagle Rock, Wilson Falls, Gulf Hagus, Katahdin Iron Works, Big Moose, Little Moose, Number Four Mt., White Cap Mt., Borestone Mountain, and more. Pinnacle Pursuit Hiking Maine Event
June – September – Moosehead Historical Society– Docent guided tours being Wednesday-Friday from 1pm-4pm.
June – October: Katahdin Sightseeing Cruises on Moosehead Lake
June: Bike and Boat Moosehead Lake, Maine Event – Bikers travel 19.5 miles to Rockwood and return on Moosehead Lake aboard the Katahdin Steamship. Family and team members. Fund raiser for CA Dean Hospital.
Thursday Evenings – Free Music Concert at Greenville’s Gazebo 7pm to 9pm
July: Woodsman Breakfast 7am – 10am – Cardboard Boat Regatta 12pm Event at Red Cross Beach, Katahdin Cruise 12 – 3:30
July 4: Town of Greenville Fourth of July Celebration: Craft Fair 9am to 5pm – Parade at 11am from Greenville Junction down Pritham Avenue – Fireworks display over Moosehead Lake at Rockwood Cottages beginning at dusk..
July: Moosehead Lake Event by Yacht Club – Vintage and Classic Boat Show- Conservation of boats, canoes, and kayaks.
July: Depot Maine Event Moosehead – Dogs for the Depot – “Woofstock” 10:00AM – 12:00PM
August : Greenville Maine Event – Forest Heritage Days – Logging event 2 day celebration of Maine’s most historic industry. educational event about foresting the Maine North Woods. Woods tours, educational exhibits, craft fair, and logging competition. A top event in Greenville, Maine one not to be missed.
August: Forrest G. Whitman Memorial Golf Tournament- Moosehead Lake Kineo Golf Course
August: Skowhegan State Fair
September : International Seaplane Fly-In – Walk / Run 5K starts at 8am – Fly In Cruises on the Kate steamship throughout the day
October: Audubon Society Borestone Mountain Walk-a-thon. Help preserve this beautiful mountain.
